Match Report: Berlin Irish 10 - 46 Halle Rugby Rovers

On Saturday 23rd Oct the Irish took on USV Halle at Forcke. The early exchanges saw the kickers cautiously trading penalties: Daubney slotting an excellent kick from 40m out to keep the score at 3-3.

Unfortunately, the rest of the half was dominated by the visitors as they ran in 5 tries with the boys in green falling off some tackles and being caught out of position numerous times.

The second half was however, a much tighter affair, with the Irish finally able to stablise their set piece and repeatedly build pressure through multiple phases. Eventually resulting in a well worked try from outside center Rouby. Halle remained a threat however and responded with a try of their own to take the final score to 10-46

While the result was somewhat disappointing, there were a number of highlights. Buttitta's and Sigg’s and performances at lock and blindside flanker respectively were particularly impressive, Marquez was safe at 15 and the club was able to continue developing its squad depth through their finishers throughout the 2nd half.

Scorers:

Try: Rouby

Con: Daubney

Penalty: Daubney
