Match Report: Berlin Bruisers 15–48 Berlin Irish

A confident performance from the Irish saw them take 5 points back to Berlin following their away trip to Oranienburg.

The first half saw both teams go toe-to-toe with contrasting styles. Bruisers playing directly and carrying strongly whilst Irish looked to exploit the wider channels. A brace from Martin on the left wing bookended 2 tries for the home team. Whilst Irish were creating opportunities going forward, some ill-discipline in the first 20mins gave the Bruisers a chance to clear their lines. A penalty kick from Daubney was the difference at the break - Irish going in 10-13 ahead.

The second half saw much improved discipline and with the teams structure improving, scoring opportunities began to open up and the Irish back line reaped the benefit. A penalty try after Marquez was denied by a clear deliberate knock on, crashes from the center pairing of Rouby and Guerrero and a captains try following a great break by Steele saw the lead build.

With only a few minutes to go the Bruisers were able to build some pressure and work their way over for a 3rd try but this was answered on 80mins by a run from fly-half to take the full time score to 15-48 and give the boys in green a valuable 5 points for their Regionalliga campaign.
