BIRFC faced RK03 II in their second game this season

Irish started well, with classic front rowers try by the loosened prop Fanti. The first half was a dogged affair, with B.I conceding 3 in the middle 20 mins.

The second half started much better for the B.I with an intercept by winger Patterson who almost made the try line but for a try saving tackle by RK03. The second half was a much tighter affair, with both teams seeing yellow cards for ill discipline from the referee.

Around the 45th minute, Rouby made a clean tackle and ran 60 metres for the try line for only the referee to adjudge a knock on in the motion.

On the 65th minute Irish were close hammering away at the line. Open-side flanker Steele was wide open for the try but the referee rightly called a forward pass.

The remainder of the second half was an arm wrestle with neither side giving an inch until the 79th minute where Irish conceded at the death.

Standouts in the game was Rouby’s excellent defence, Lenzing's huge runs and the line out work by Franks at lock.

While not the result Irish wanted, there was plenty of positive play and good parts of their game that shows they’ll be a real force in the coming games of the season.
